Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Your Partner in Building a Successful Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program

The Advantages Of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Medical studies have shown that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), combined with standard medical and/or surgical care, can be an extremely effective treatment for various medical conditions, including chronic wounds. The effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy result from an oxygen-enriched bloodstream, and not from the oxygen's direct contact with wounds or skin.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy May Be Used To:

  • Promote Wound Healing

  • Increase Oxygen Delivery to Injured Tissues

  • Improve Infection Control

  • Form New Blood Vessels

  • Preserve Damaged Tissues

  • Eliminate and Reduce Effects from Toxic Substances such as Carbon Monoxide

  • Reduce or Eliminate Arterial Gas Bubble Obstructions

Precision Health Care can partner with your hospital to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy on either an emergent or outpatient basis.

The Patient Experience

Hyper (increased) Baric (pressure) Oxygen Therapy delivers 100% oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure in a specially equipped medical device called a Hyperbaric Chamber. While the patient is inside the chamber, it is pressurized with either medical grade air or 100% oxygen. The patient breathes normally while the system pressure is increased around them. The increased pressure and oxygen concentration supersaturate the blood and tissues with oxygen and add a dimension to the healing process previously unavailable without HBOT.

Patients, while either sitting up or lying down in the chamber, can watch television or DVDs, listen to music, or take a nap, while under the care and supervision of skilled and trained physicians and hyperbaric center staff.

As part of our commitment to quality, we provide ongoing operational, education and management services.

Excellence, No Matter How You Configure It

When we partner with your hospital, we provide HBOT in state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen chambers, which are available in two configurations.

Monoplace Chambers

The monoplace (one-person) chamber is large enough to hold a seven-foot tall patient. Generally constructed of a steel frame with a see-through, acrylic cylinder to provide a sense of spaciousness. The chambers have a pressure capability of 3.0 atmospheres absolute, which is three times the normal atmospheric pressure.

Pressurized with 100% oxygen, monoplace chambers eliminate the need for masks or hoods. The patient breathes normally while situated comfortably within the chamber.

A two-way intercom enables the patient to communicate with a staff member who will be present at all times during the treatment.

Multiplace Chambers

A multiplace chamber can support a large wound care volume, with the ability to treat more patients in a regularly scheduled eight-hour workday. Other advantages include:

  • Hands On Medical CareA medically qualified attendant is always inside the chamber to provide hands-on care as needed. A chamber technician remains outside to operate the control panel. The multiplace chamber can comfortably accommodate the many medical professionals required to provide hands-on intensive care level support during treatment of critically ill patients.

  • Ease of Access A floor level rectangular door allows easy access for wheelchairs or gurneys, as well as high-risk patients who are brought to the chamber after emergency stabilization.

  • Greater Economies and EfficiencyBecause the Multiplace Chamber is pressurized with medical grade air and the oxygen is delivered to the patient via acrylic hood, face mask or endotrachial tube, it uses a fraction of the oxygen per patient of a monoplace chamber, all while achieving the same therapeutic results.

Your Patients' Safety Is Our Top Priority

All our wound healing centers have a trained safety director, who operates under the direction of Precision Health Care's Safety Committee.

Additionally, physicians, nurses and technicians are trained in all aspects of hyperbaric medicine. They work directly with your patients and referring

physicians to develop an individualized treatment program for each patient.
